The Chadwick Chess Club and Team will kick the year off with their first practice on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, immediately after school in the library.
We will practice each week in preparation for the Mark Twain Conference Chess Tournament, held this year on October 4. We will continue to meet often after that. We typically participate in the Missouri State Tournament in the spring and may have other local meet opportunities as well.
If you are a student in grades 4 through 12, come and check us out! You will be part of a winning tradition! Last year, we won the Mark Twain Conference High School trophy, and we have been consistent winners in both high school and junior high divisions within the conference over the last several years. At the Missouri State Tournament in 2012, we placed for the first time, earning 4th place honors, and producing the 9th ranked chess player in the state!
Our first semester meeting dates are as follows:
September: 10th, 16th, 23d, 30th
October: 7th, 21st,
November: 4th, 11th (Closed for Deer Season!)
December: 2d, 16th
Our second semester dates will be announced prior to the Christmas break.
