The Chadwick Chess Club and Team will kick the year off with their first practice on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, immediately after school in the library.
We will practice each week in preparation for the Mark Twain Conference Chess Tournament in October. We will continue to meet often after that. We typically participate in the Missouri State Tournament in the spring. We may have other local meet opportunities as well.
If you are a student in grades 4 through 12, come and check us out! You will be part of a winning tradition! Last year we won the Mark Twain Conference Junior High School trophy, and have been consistent winners in both high school and junior high divisions within the conference over the last several years. At the MO State Tournament in 2012, we placed for the first time, earning 4th place honors, and producing the 9th ranked chess player in the state!
Here is the updated Chess schedule:
- September: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
- CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT: Friday, October 24
- October: 7th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd, 28th
- November: 6th, 11th
- December: 2nd, 9th, 16th
Our second semester dates will be published prior to the Christmas break.
NO CHESS EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!
