The Chadwick R-1 School District will hold a public hearing on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chadwick R-1 School District cafeteria located at 7090 State Hwy 125 South, Chadwick, MO 65629. Christian County has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for $937,500 on behalf of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and the Chadwick R-1 School District for the construction of an Early Childhood Education Facility. The project will benefit 54% low/moderate income persons. All citizens, including those in the Chadwick area, are encouraged to attend in order to comment on the proposed activities and on the impact of the proposed project on historic structures and other applicable state and federally regulated program areas. Anticipated environmental impacts for discussion include but are not limited to historic buildings, floodplains, wetlands, endangered species, contamination, flammable operations, noise concerns, and traffic.
The school district is planning on constructing an early childhood education center on its campus. The facility will be a total of 5,000 square feet and contain three preschool classrooms.
