Chess Club

The Chadwick Chess Club meets every Thursday in the Library from 3:15pm to 4:30pm and participates in several tournaments throughout the year.  While participation in the Chess Club is open to all students 4th Grade and above, some tournaments may limit their participation to certain grade levels. Attendance every week is NOT mandatory, and we understand when students have to come and/or go for other extracurricular activities. During Chess Club meetings, students  receive instruction paced for beginners and advanced students from coach John Derbyplay each other and/ or online. They also compete with other kids across the country via the internet. It is well established that regular chess play improves student grades, especially in math. Students don't have to know the first thing about Chess to join!

Chadwick Chess Club starts this Thursday, August 27th right after school until 4:30pm.  It is open to 4th-12th grade, and is free to join! The meeting will start with a short lesson on basic strategies.  Students will play against each other or online.  Come join the fun!
